Facility and Function
We feel that true personalized medicine can only be provided in private healthcare facilities. In order to provide such services, facilities equipped to provide such services are required. Currently we are building facilities with the following functions:
NO.1 Housing

 Steel-reinforced one-storey 300 individual housing units (30㎡~45㎡)
We feel it is important to have single-storey units for healthy individuals. One-storey units will present more opportunities for the residents to go out and experience the openness of earth and nature, which in turn will favorably affect their minds and bodies.
We have sought advice from the senior members of society in various fields, all of whom stated similar opinions, which led us to our decision that housing units be one-story. Fortunately, we have a vast area of land which makes this possible.

NO.2 Joint use structures (almost completed)
The joint use structures are 2-storey steel-framed buildings used for the following purposes:

(1) Hospital Wing: A clinic is set up on the 2nd floor of the Administrative building to the front.
(2) Research Wing: The research wing is an independent 2-story steel-framed structure of approximately 1000m2, equipped with wide ranging research equipment.
The wing is scheduled to be used for the development of supplements for Asclepeion residents, various analyses, human genome DNA analysis and other research in collaboration with the research lab of the Adaptgen head office and university labs.
(3) Food Factory Wing:
Supplements and processed foods used in Asclepeion will be manufactured in this wing.
The factory will offer a place for Asclepeion residents to work for short hours and obtain income. We hope that the products manufactured in the factory can be sold outside in the future, with part of profits used to improve the lives of the residents. Some of the products planned to be manufactured are as listed below:
A. Soft capsule filling factory: Vitamins, minerals, fish oil such as EPA and DHA, blueberry anthocyanin and more are inserted into soft capsules to be provided to the residents for the daily use under the direction of doctor.
B. Fermented food factory: Natto, black garlic, matured hyaluronic acid and other healthy foods will be processed and manufactured.
One food the researchers have high expectations for is natto made from mucuna beans. Currently one of our group organizations, Agricultural Production Cooperation Shinno, is working to designate mucuna beans as a signature agricultural product of Miyazaki. Mucuna is one of the ingredients used for ayurveda treatment in India, which has used for over 1,800 years, and this large bean contains a large amount of L-dopa. These are often called the rejuvenating or magic beans.
(4) Gymnasium: Exercise programs are provided in the gymnasium by specialist under the management of doctor. Residents can enjoy sports and dance to exercise and improve their health.
The gymnasium is a robust structure with a floor area of 1000m2, which is a designated evacuation shelter in case of disasters.
(5) Cafeteria: Residents take their meals 3 times a day in the cafeteria.
(6) Staff dormitory: The dormitory is used by staff who find it difficult to commute, and staff on night duty.
(7) Playground: Playground of about 10,000m2 is created to provide a space for children to play from neighborhood areas.
The theme of the playground is dinosaurs, and there are 16 realistic looking dinosaurs that children can climb on. Because Asclepeion is a facility with many elderly residents, grandchildren will be visiting them. Residents will be able to enjoy playing with their grandchildren in the playground. However, it will not be easy for families living far away locations to visit; therefore, it will be open to children living in nearby areas, which may bring warm feelings to the elderly.
The playground will charge a minimal fee, which will be collected by the non-profit organization and used for the management of the facility to reduce the financial burden and improve the life of the residents.
(8) Athletics for elderly:
Athletic facilities will be set up for the elderly with instructors on stand-by to assist in physical training and to heighten spirits.
(9) Pottery class: Kiln and pottery wheels are set up, and classes are to be taught by a pottery teacher.
(10) Tea Ceremony class:
A Japanese room is set up to be used for the tea ceremony.  Classes will be held for residents wishing to participate.
(11) Fishing pond: A pond will be made for residents to enjoy fishing.
(12) Massage room: A masseur will be hired as regular staff to provide massage services under the supervision of a doctor.
(13) Library: Residents can enjoy reading in a pleasant environment.
(14) Farm/garden:

One of the group is an organization called the Agricultural Production Cooperation Shinno. Medicinal herbs and plumbs are grown here, as well as vegetables used in the cafeteria.
Shinno owns a vast area of mountains and fields totaling 250,000m2, which contributes to agriculture in Miyazaki.
A small farmland is provided to residents for their pleasure, and guidance and advice for growing vegetables and flowers is provided by Shinno staff.
